The Great PG&E PSPS "Zombie Apocalypse" of 2019 Has Commenced!

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/09/2019 05:20 PM
Arnold, CA...When we stopped for gas in Angels Camp a guy got out of his vehicle and asked if there was a "Zombie Apocalypse" here? He hadn't heard about the planned power outages and was coming to our area to camp for the weekend. All he saw were people frantically foraging for supplies ahead of the power outage and impending doom.  Now that the outage is underway and the hum of generators is filling the air it has taken on a bit of a surreal feel. The PG&E Hospitality tent in the Meadowmont Shopping Center looks straight from a movie set. It even has a security guard scanning the refugees who have so far survived for a little over an hour off the grid.  One was even heard shrieking "Quick, my battery is at 20%"

The orange and red locations on the map above indicate a lack of electron flow..

Best Places To Sled In Calaveras

Posted by: News_Desk on 12/30/2016 02:01 PM
Calaveras County, CA...With winter upon us and more snow in the forecast, many of you will be heading to the mountains looking for a fun day in the outdoors and a good place to sled. It’s not unusual to see highway turn-outs packed with cars while families play on the nearby hillsides. It can be a little scary with such proximity to a principal highway, so we thought a little guide to Calaveras’ better places to sled was in order for this month.

Bear Valley Weather & Conditions Update ~By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/25/2015 08:09 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Sunny today with a high near 56. North northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Another day of beautiful weather then we should see the next system move in Thursday evening and sticking around thru the weekend. If all goes well and the storm track stays in position we could pick up anywhere from 3-9" of new snow. Snow levels for this sytem could push down to the 4000' range and possibly a bit lower. Cooler temps will also play a vital role in the coming event. Stay tuned for more on that system and what is slated for next week also. Bring the family and friends up for some "Pure Mtn Fun" as it's a great time to take advantage of some of the deals we have going on. Check our web page-www.bearvalley.com and our Facebook page for more info on upcoming events. All open Lifts will be running from 9:30am-3;30pm Monday thru Friday this week. Stay tuned for more info........ Peace Out, Mattly
