Murphys, CA...Beneath the stars at the beautiful Albeno Munari Vineyard Amphitheatre, Murphys Creek Theatre is proud to present A Midsummer Night’s Dream. One of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, audiences will be delighted with this year’s Theatre Under the Stars Opener. Director Misty Day leads a cast of incredible characters including Brooke Lawrence as Puck, Kate Gonzales as Hermia, Allie Blackwell as Titania, Robert Zellers as Lysander, Sean Lewis as Oberon, and straight from Paris, John Gallagher returns to the MCT stage as Nick Bottom along with many other wonderful actors drawn from right here in the community.....

San Andreas, CA....Our Calaveras County Board of Supervisors are back in action Tuesday morning at 9am. Some of the agenda items being discussed are a RESOLUTION authorizing amendment to Professional Services Agreement with Weatherby-Reynolds-Fritson Engineering and Design for plan checking services, in an amount not to exceed $85,000, and extending term of existing agreement to December 31, 2008; MINUTE ORDER authorizing Board Chair to execute Standard Agreement 08-0122, between Calaveras County and CDFA, Weed Management, in an amount not to exceed $17,186.40, for Fiscal Years 2008/09; Dept. of Agriculture; RESOLUTION approving contract extension with California Forensic Medical Group, Inc., for medical services for jail inmates,; Sheriff - Board action: RESOLUTION adjusting the FY 2007-2008 budget for Calaveras County Sheriff, in the amount of $34,800.00, for payment of Kirchhoff & Associates contract; along with a BUDGET TRANSFER, for said amount, in conjunction therewith; (4/5 vote required) Sheriff; COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY Discussion and possible action re: the introduction/first reading of an ordinance approving revisions to Chapter 15.06 Flood Damage Prevention; Community Development Agency. Murphys, CA….The Native Sons of the Golden West (NSGW) is a fraternal order with roots dating back almost to the founding of California. Founded on July 11, 1875, the NSGW was organized for “The mutual benefit, mental improvement and social intercourse of its members; to perpetuate in the minds of all native Californians the memories of one of the most wonderful epochs in the world’s history–-the Days of ’49—to unite them in one harmonious body through the state by the ties of a friendship mutually beneficial to all and unalloyed by the bitterness of religious or political differences….
