On this day in 1776 he published the first of his American Crisis pamphlets under the pen name of Common Sense. These were some of the sparks that fanned into flames that led to our Independence. Our Bit of Wisdom for today comes from Tyrus Raymond Cobb, December 18, 1886 – July 17, 1961. The legendary if at times controversial player not only set records that still stand to this day he amassed a fortune from his early investments in Coca Cola and other companies.
