Murphys, CA...Last week Supervisor Candidate Michael Oliveira hosted a second Ice Cream Social. This time around the Murphys Historic Hotel was the venue. A good but slightly smaller crowd than his event in Arnold was on hand. County issues from budgetary to law enforcement took center stage. Auditor, Rebecca Callen and Court Commissioner and Judge Candidate Grant Barrett were on hand as well. Auditor Callen spoke for a few minutes on the current financial condition of the county and Candidate Oliveira gave and address as well and also had a question and answer session as well...

Ironstone Threw a Country Party Last Night with Reba McEntire and Whiskey Dawn

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 07/22/2012 07:23 PM
Murphys, CA...The Ironstone Amptheater worked it's magic last night as a close to capacity crowd made their way out to Ironstone Vineyards. They came to see one of the biggest female acts of all time in Reba McEntire and fast rising California country band Whiskey Dawn that said this may be their last California show for a stretch as they are leaving to make their way to Nashville to take another step or two on their path to Country Music stardom. If the crowd reactions were any indications then their success is already a foregone conclusion. Reba put on a great show playing from a huge library of chart topping new hits and some classic songs of country music's past. She is the consummate professional as she started off by mentioning Murphys and how she would have liked to have gone to Murphys Homecoming earlier in the day. This typified what the awaiting crowd would witness, Reba is a professional at the top of her game. Warm, engaging, prepared and dedicated to giving her guests what they came to hear...

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 09/21/2011 11:55 PM
Sonora, CA...We had the pleasure to sit down for an interview with Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority's Larry Cope. Mr. Cope has been instrumental and some would say indispensable in replacing the lost retail jobs in wake of the Mervyns and Gottschalk's closures. While these are the most visible results of the TCEDA's work they are by no means the whole story or primary focus of the TCEDA. Their mission is to add jobs and high paying jobs where possible...
