The hypocrisy of this question in the face of what Texas is doing to Roe v. Wade is hilarious

Totally agree. If Texas can force a raped teenager to carry a baby to birth that results from that rape, of course they can also require that all citizens be vaccinated.

The so-called vaccines, are nothing of the sort. Those injected continue to transit the virus. The injection is to minimize severity. Thousands have been injured and people have died from the injection, per VAERS. It is completely up to each person to choose what is right for them. The belief that one has the right to coerce people into what medical care they should accept is causing divisiveness in communities.

Yeah, here's the thing. It's a public health issue. Not a 'health care' issue. So I'm afraid that you're just wrong, and thankfully in the fringe minority on this one.

Really? What Texas is doing to Roe v. Wade is hilarious to you?
What I find disturbing, but not hilarious is democrats think all republicans are against abortion, especially on thepinetree. According to dem pinenuts, only Republicans are Catholics then, right? I always thought it didn't matter what political party you belong to, to be a Catholic or an atheist for that matter. Even though people like Biden and Pelosi call themselves Catholic, the Pope certainly doesn't and called them out on that. Anyone else would of called Biden and Pelosi, Hypocrites or Two Faced Lying Scum, the Pope didn't. He just said he would refuse them communion if they asked him.

Silly, sensational choices. The reality is we should be concerned for the greater good. If you choose to be not vaccinated, then you should understand you will be locked out of places of business, offices of government, schools and more. Not about personal liberties but the well being of others. Once upon a time in this country, that was actually a thing.

I jjust paid an extra $75 to fly on United rather than Delta because United requires all their employees to be vaccinated.

I think you'll see two classes of businesses - those that cater to the 'infectious class' and those of us who are willing pay another $75 for the confidence that we're surrounded by people who believe in public health and science.

I think it's a huge business opportunity - Even a local bar could charge a premium for the experience.

The only thing he is entitled to is not being killed by someone who thinks they will cure their covid with a horse dewormer. Seems like $75 well spent to me.

YES! When it comes to people infecting others with a virus such as COVID! I have rights too to NOT be infected by ignorant others who decide not to get the vaccine. This virus is costing everyone so much in so many ways. It needs to be stopped and this will help stop it.

You have every right to NOT get sick, its called washing your hands, covering your coughs and sneezes, NOT picking your nose or touching your eyes and for the most common of all stay home if you feel sick. If you must go outside YOU wear a mask so YOU don’t get others sick.

Interesting the only people worried about getting a cold are the ones who are supposed to vaccinated from it.

Interesting the only ones complaining about getting sick are the ones wearing the masks that are intended to keep them from getting sick.

Since at this point the vaccines DO NOT WORK and is only spreading the cold its painfully obvious this is not about health only POLITICS.

None of those points are true. Stop lying.

The number of vaccinated people who die from covid represents 1-5% of those who die from Covid. The other 95% are unvaccinated How is that 'not working'?

Do you think Math was an elective subject in life?

If you're wondering who'se at fault for the economic, political, and social costs of COVID, it's the anti-vaxxers. Not those people trying to move the country forward.

Wrong!! Polio was already being wiped out due to herd immunity. Look at the historical graphs and see that polio was pretty much done, THEN a vaccine came out for it, years after. You indoctrinated fools, read, study, explore something other than news. Go find a peer review or one of the hundreds of studies showing true data and scientific measures that completely destroy the fear of the Corona Cold.

conservatives tend to fear others. The idea that the world is a terribly dangerous place

On the surface it's very strange that this attitude would lead to an endorsement of small government and lasseiz-faire capitalism

But of course if you believed the world was malevolent you'd believe the government was malevolent too

Of course you'd believe that people would take advantage of social programs

You'd believe the only person you could really depend on is yourself

I think the previous poster is right. If you've never been outside of North American you owe it to your perspective of the world to go to Thailand. Or New Zealand. Or Peru. Or Spain. Or Austria. You need to know more about the world to understand our country.

Does the Government have the Right to Force Medical Care on Citizens?

Only when "patriots" choose to ignore science and put others at risk. You're free to not drive, but not free to drive the wrong way down the freeway.

Just get the damn vaccine people. Or die. Whatever.

Follow the data
Posted on: 2021-09-16 19:05:06   By: Anonymous

Fact: The uptake in positive tests for Covid is primarily among the unvaccinated.
Fact: Resistance to getting a vaccine in California is primarily conservatives and evangelicals (though some liberals against technology are in this group).
Question: What is the relationship between COVID positivity and political preferences.
I took Monday's COVID report data for last week for each county and computed the per capita (100,000) and the percent of YES votes for the recall of Gavin Newsom (as a proxy for political preference where "Yes" is conservative.
The net result was that there was a 77.6% positive correlation between counties with higher than average COVID rates and whether those counties preferred to recall the Governor.

The data is below.

The conclusion is that "stupid is as stupid does" -- those that reject science are also prone to reject liberal values. No surprise, but the data simply confirms the battle lines that lie ahead.
